Fantazzztic!

Granado Espada (Popularly known as Sword of the New World in North America/Europe) a baroque slash age of exploration European themed MMORPG developed by IMC Games is probably one of the MMORPG who has the most beautiful, intricate, un-exaggerated and realistic set of armors and costumes amongst the wide variety of MMORPG nowadays. In fact most of the costume designs are patterned and gives some justice to the genre of Victorian, Gothic and Baroque. In my honest opinion no other MMORPG can compare to the beauty of Granado Espada’s costume. This game is even jocularly labeled as a “dress up game in disguise” in some areas because of what can they provide to accessorize your fashion. Thanks to the magnificent hands of the concept artist such as Limha Lekan. Aside from the fantazzztic costumes, the game features a wide variety of characters and non playing personality which is even garbed with such fashion! With this feature some players and even non players alike is inspired to have a taste (cosplay) of the Granado Espada characters/npc/upc or rnpc as you can see in various cosplay events such as ChinaJoy Cosplay Championship or even a random group photo shoot.

We’ve seen the fantabulous Chinese cosplayers (ChinaJoy Cosplay Championship etc.) to dress up and portray their characters magnificently on and off the stage that makes Andre Janzur’s hair raise because it is  so FANTAZZZTIC! (fabulous in SOTNW). So why don’t we take a look to the magnificent Granado Espada cosplayers across the shores of china especially in my country the Philippines.

Let’s check out WhiteShips who used to play her character in Rembrandt Server of Granado Espada SEA. During the third anniversary of a local MMORPG publisher who distributed the game in my country. She cosplayed Feng Ling one of the four major martial artist type of a unique playable character (RNPC). Equipped with a dragon tattoo in her leg with a matching oriental braided hair head dress she epically puts the Feng(?/ Wind) in the name of her character Feng Ling (Known as Soso in some version ). The cosplayer whose name is Angeline isn’t new to the  dressing up industry at least.  According to a few talks with her friends she’s taking up a nursing course in a local college and sometimes does some clothing modeling as a living. With her beautiful oriental looks and actions during the event she perfectly potrayed the women from the country of Dang and I even saw her doing the trademark “Feng Ling Action” when the character is about to or after using the skill. Let’s head on to Caress also known as ArcadeDoll. Lets named her the “Dare Devil”; she is not a new comer in the local cosplay industry. She had been winning some cosplay related award left and right. Caress is also known to have the ability cosplay the most daring MMORPG characters such as the Dancer/Gypsy in Ragnarok Online. I first saw her during the launch of GE portraying an elementalist in a Robe of Fire (The newbie robe that looks like a tango dance costume) outfit.  She really loves to cosplay the elementalist character and with her latest portrayal she wears the La Ventisca robe one of the most daring costume that is made for the elementalist.

Heading to the circle of friends of my friend Anne also known as the DeSanggria family of Rembrandt server her group recently conducts an outstanding Granado Espada cosplay photoshoot in the historical site of Fort Santiago, Intramuros Manila. Just like caress she and her group aren’t new to cosplaying, In fact all of them belonged to the largest local cosplaying group in the country.

In this photoshoot Anne (DeSanggria) portrayed the character Selva Norte also known as the Katovic Lady another UPC/RNPC in the game; in her blogging days about her costume she posted the details of her accessory that didn’t fail me to say WOW. Just look at the rapier and the giant arm.  Her friend Joy or Lucido gave life to the character of Brunie Ettiene another UPC/RNPC also known as the tomb raider of the game because of her background. Take a look closely to the details of her armor clothes and her pistol packed with her charisma I must say that it is almost as close to perfection. Jac Ting Lim or Gatoblanca wow’ed the community with her internalization of the yarrrr! In-house pirate Adelina the Pirate (Adelinza Esperanza the Pirate) another UPC/RNPC. Her posture, poise and attitude while portraying  her character  is a real killer as you can see in the pictures and last but not the least Riasa also known as stormseek  the “mamaw”  (a local term coined for a person who has the strongest or the highest level character . It literally means monster) among the four.  Grace Bernelli in bistre costume. She is the game’s most widely used musketeer type of RNPC/UPC is her character of her choice and she perfectly reloads the rifle wielding brestian lady with a white hair and dark skin. It is indeed a bang!
