Players who loves to “seek some pointers” in the virtual word of Ancient China in the three kingdoms era will be celebrating upon hearing this news! Cubinet Interactive’s Red Cliff(MY) will officially enter the open beta phase tomorrow October 15 2009 at around 2:00PM GMT +8 (Standard time of Malaysia/Singapore).

Red Cliff based on the Three Kingdoms Period possesses a Chinese Martial Arts fighting style which has been implemented terrificly in this game (via Motion Capture System). Red Cliff developers went beyond the limits and now you can leap, pierce, slash, chop and block!

All players must not forget to claim their free newbie pack courtesy of OFFGAMERS during the open beta phase.  A detailed instruction on how to claim one can be seen here.

So whats in the house during the open beta phase?

- Level Cap Increased maximum raised to level 60, release corresponding weapon, equipment.

- Release Marriage system.

- Release Sigil system.

- Release In Game Item Mall.

- Release Jade Amulet system.

- Release Corresponding Troop Commanding Level Quest.

Aside from the Warriors of the Three Kingdom, an MMORPG based on the “three kingdoms” of course (Red Cliff, Cao Cao, Xiao Quiao, Zhuge Liang ring a bell?),  CTRacer Global one of the MMO’s that i faithfully anticipating this year recently announced their tentative date for their open beta, finally! Ok so here it is.

Game Networks is getting ready to take its closed beta racing MMORPG “CTRacer” into Open Beta tentatively on August 21, 2009. The Open Beta testing phase will be host to several contests that will conducted in and out of the game which will reward players with power up features for their cars.

CTRacer Online is the newest MMORacing game from GameNetworks, developed by Mobil Planet that allows players to go head to head in a virtual racing world with a load of solo quests to earn level, rank, and gear. The setting of the game is a an exact replica of the skyline and the highway systems of Seoul Korea. Downhill maps are also available for players to compete in. The game is well designed and has little if any lag during gameplay which is extremely important in racing themed mmo’s.

Unlike what other online racing aficionado said, The game really looks promising, Imagine having a neck to neck fight with someone in  a downhill setting ala initial D minus the Characters Manga Face and random dialogue though.

it’s just that they need to put a lot of focus on some aspects that can be seen throughout the game.

As a Close Beta player, i do expect  some major changes during the Open Beta phase, It will be a shame if we will only see the same thing we saw during the Close Beta Period right?

So the big question is where will i stay among these 2 fantazzztic game that will start their open beta test this August. Will it be this self proclaimed number 1 MMO racing game CTRacer? Or this almost to perfection, A promising medium for machine animation but limited to Chinese themed movies called Warriors of the Three kingdoms? I guess the “machinima” capable game has the upper hand for me
